On February 15, 2022, at 7:37 p.m., Clayton County Police Officers responded to Walker Road and East Fayetteville Road, Riverdale, GA in reference to a hit and run accident with injuries. During the investigation, officers learned the juvenile was struck by a box truck and the vehicle fled the scene. During the investigation by the Clayton County STAR Unit, officers were able to locate the vehicle and the suspect Gary Freeman.
At 9 a.m. on February 16, 2022, we learned the juvenile victim succumbed to his injuries. Gary Freeman is being charged with Vehicular Homicide, Hit and Run, and Driving While Suspended.
