Robbery by Force Suspect Apprehended

On Monday, July 30, 2018, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Clayton County Police officers responded to a robbery call at a Metro PCS store in Ellenwood, GA.  The victims (store clerks) told officers that they had been sprayed with pepper spray and attacked by an assailant who was able to subdue them and steal the cash drawers from their registers before running out of the business.

Crime Scene Detectives responded to the store to process the scene for evidence and recovered a latent fingerprint.  After examining the fingerprint, Crime Scene detectives were able to identify 32-year-old Trenell Brown of Rex, Georgia as the perpetrator of the robbery.

CCPD detectives subsequently obtained warrants for Brown’s arrest and with the assistance of the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office’s Fugitives Unit, Brown was located and taken into custody.  An interview was conducted with Brown after his arrest.  During the interview, Brown admitted to robbing and assaulting the clerks.

Brown has since been transported to the Clayton County Jail on the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Battery
