The
Clayton County Police Department's Records Unit is a sub-division
of the Special Services
Division. The Records Unit is responsible for processing and
maintaining approximately 65,000 case files annually. The Records
Unit is located inside Police Headquarters at 7911 N. McDonough
Street, Jonesboro, Georgia and is open Monday - Friday from 8:00
AM until 8:00 PM. An incident report or accident report may be
obtained in person from the Records Unit for a fee of $0.25 per
page. Please allow at least 3 business days (or 72 hours) from
the date the report was filed before a request for a copy of the
report is made.
Incident reports and accident reports are not currently
available online.
To request a report by mail, send $2.00 (cashiers check or money
order payable to the Clayton County Police Department) along with
the case number and your name and a self addressed stamped envelope

Criminal History Reports |
The
Records Unit accepts requests for Georgia Criminal History Reports
for personal or employment reasons. Requests for Criminal History
information must be made in person. You must present a valid
photo identification, Social Security card and complete and sign
a waiver form. There is a $20.00 fee to obtain your personal Criminal
History information which can be paid by either cash or cashiers
check or money order payable to the Clayton County Police Department.
No Criminal History information on third parties will be released
(ie. you can not obtain Criminal History information on anyone
other than yourself).
If
your vehicle was impounded by the Clayton County Police Department
you must obtain a Vehicle Release Form from the Records Unit before
the vehicle can be released by the Wrecker Service. In order to
obtain a Vehicle Release Form you must come in person to the Clayton
County Police Department Records Unit and present:
Current Tag Registration
OR
Vehicle Title (properly signed)
OR
Notarized Bill of Sale (less than 31 days old)
AND
Valid Photo Identification
The
Clayton County Police Department currently contracts with four
wrecker services within Clayton County to provide vehicle impounds.
